2025 Corvette Car show notes
Hello everyone, here is a Member’s update from our April Car Show Meeting held at Mimi’s Cafe on Wednesday April 9th. The meeting was well attended and the discussion around the table was very productive. Here are the highlights.
* We now have 5 registrations including a C1, a C2, a C3 “Bumper Car”, a 1980 C3, and a 2020 C8. It’s early in the registration process but we are off to a good start.
* Homewood Suites, our Car Show Host Hotel, has 1 registration. Again it’s early, but they are happy with the early results.
* The BFE (Best Food Ever) food truck from last years show is confirmed and looking forward to being a part of our show again.
* Tom Ready from Woods Printing has confirmed that the advance order for all 2nd in Class, 3rd in Class and the 20 Participant’s Choice trophies has been placed before any tariffs increases affected our cost, and should arrive soon.
* Nick Daltilio gave an update on the new Show Shirt sample with the updated design and reported that he should have it by the Board of Directors Meeting on April 30th for approval. If that happens, then Rosalee Daltilio will coordinate with the manager at Dillard’s to have pictures taken on a mannequin so we can promote sales in conjunction with our Pre-Registration Special price of $70 which includes entry in our show and 2 show shirts. CCMC Members are encouraged to place orders for a shirt at our Monthly Membership Meetings at $18 each. See Rosalee to place an order and she will place a group order when she gets enough to justify the printing quantity.
* Nick Daltilio showed a “Mock Up” of the trophy design that he and Tom Ready at Woods Printing are working on together for Best in Class, Sponsor Trophies, and Best in Show. He will keep us posted on the progress and hopefully get an actual sample trophy done to get pictured and use to promote registrations in our show.
* Ernie Brandes was given permission to design a special engraved mug for all of the C3 “Bumper Car” Owners as a gift to commemorate their participation as a “Feature Car” in our show this year. He hopes to have a proposed design by the May planning meeting.
* Team reports were given by Art Roy on Parking, Roger Peterson on Traffic for Wayne Tanner Traffic Team Leader, and Nick Daltilio Judging Team Leader. All report good early member participation, however all teams are looking for more members to participate.
* Ernie Brandes reported on the Car Show supply inventory in our storage unit, and also covered printing needs for all of the forms we need during the show. Some signs in the storage unit need dates changed to reflect this year’s show date. Ernie will continue to report show needs in the upcoming meetings.
* lastly, Roger Peterson asked the team for permission, for personal reasons, to discuss a way forward without his presence in the upcoming meetings. He still wants to be as involved as he can with planning that he will be able to accomplish from home. It was decided to try a meeting using “ Face Time” during the upcoming months to allow Roger to be a part of the meeting and the rest of the team will help our Car Show Co-Chair Larry Tennison work their way through the Car Show Leaders Guide topics that need to be accomplished each month to keep planning for the show on track. Together we can all make this happen.
Our next Car Show Planning Meeting is scheduled for May 14th.
