The Corvette Club of Marion County is an active Volunteer in helping Interfaith Emergency Services complete its mission to feed children on non school days through the FOOD4Kids Backpack Program. Additional Financial Support for this program is contributed through proceeds dervived from our Annual All Corvette Show.
Each week throughout the school year club members pick up from IES and deliver to Harbour View Elementry School 23 packs of food for the children this assists food insecure families to feed thier children over the weekend. In 2024 IES began a summer program to feed the children while schools are not in session. Our members gladly participated in this new program to fill in during this 2 month period.
The club has 5 teams that rotate this worthy task each month. Our service began almost 20 years ago with one man delivering 5 bags in his corvette. Today it requires an SUV to carry 23 bags each week, a task we all enjoy knowing children are properly fed.
