Secretary Report march 2026

CORVETTE CLUB OF MARION COUNTY General Membership Business Meeting Minutes March 4, 2026 PRESIDENT: Mike Stone called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mike reviewed the events from February. Executive Board Meetings are available to all members. The next meeting is scheduled for March 25, 2026. Breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. VICE PRESIDENT: Tina Farabee Membership Update: We currently have 64 families as members. New Car Purchases/Changes: Tina and John got a new daily driver from Sullivan, a 2023 Buick Enclave. She said Sullivan was very good to deal with and they got a good deal. Service Providers: John Farabee said again how well Sullivan treated them. Nick D’Altilio got new tires for his Corvette at Lake Tire in Travaris. They were recommended by Eddie Willimans of WickEd. Nick had gotten several estimates, and their quote was the best and included everything. Nick said it was an “old time” tire store with no fancy bells. They were very easy to deal with. Trophies: Glenn Chauvin presented Mike with the Club Participation Award from the Tax Collectors Show. He was the only one left at the show to collect it. Denny and Karen Dold won Participant’s Choice from the Orange Blossom Hills show and Wayne Tanner won “Best Display” at the same show. Picnic: Tina reported the Picnic is scheduled for July 4, 2026, at the Rosser’s also known as Molly’s Farm”. Cheryl Whiteley displayed a Quilt similar to the one that we hope to have made for a raffle at the picnic. Tina is asking for Corvette Tee shirts to cut up to use in making the quilt. She currently has 5 but needs between 9 and 15 shirts. If you have any, please bring them to the next general meeting. Arnette House: They will be participating in two fund raisers. The first is the Mac and Cheese Cookoff on March 28 th at Midtown Station. The second is Foot Golf on May 9th at Rolling Green Executive Golf Course. We could put an athletic team together to participate. Please see Tina if you are interested. SECRETARY: Rosalee D’Altilio (substitute) February 4, 2026, Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve the February 2026 meeting minutes as posted, second made. Motion passed. Joyce asked Rosalee to thank the club members for the food they brought for Food4Kids dance exhibition held on Valentine’s Day. TREASURER: Jack Carroll Financial Report for February 2026: Beginning balance was $20,341.43. Bank deposits totaled $2,318. Checks and fees totaled $1,252.23. Ending balance $21,407.20. Motion made to accept the treasurer’s report as given, motion seconded. Motion passed. Financial report accepted as given. SPONSOR COORDINATOR: Roger Duty Roger has collected $2000 from Sullivan and $500 from Dr. Linn. Dr Linn increased his sponsorship to Platinum last year. He is very interested in our club. Roger has also seen sponsors with our yearly plaques to update them with the 2026 date of appreciation. EVENT COORDINATOR: Cheryl Whiteley Events for March: 3/14-15 Venice Car Show. 3/18 ORFs Breakfast at Reds 3/19 Twisty Treat Ice Cream cruise in 3/25 Monthly dinner at Blackwater Grill Events for April: 4/15 ORFs Breakfast at the Farmhouse 4/16 Ice Cream at Jeremiahs 4/18 Chris Cruz Tour 4/22 Monthly dinner TBA 4/23-25 NCM Bash, Bowling Green, KY Events for May: 5/20 ORFs breakfast at Denny’s 5/21 Ice cream at Twisty Treat 5/23 Memorial Day Cruise 5/27 Monthly dinner TBA Cheryl is thinking of adding a tour to Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville. NCM AMBASSADOR: Dave Rosser Dave went over details for the NCM Bash from April 23-25. We have 3 rooms still available in the hotel block in Bowling Green. The Deadline to register is the week before. You can get more information on the NCM website. Nick discussed the plans for the Vince Car Show on March 15 th . We will be caravaning down on Saturday March 14 th and staying at a hotel in Sarasota. We will caravan in the morning to the show. We believe we have 12 -14 cars going from the club. CAR SHOW: Rosalee discussed what happened at the first car show meeting. Unfortunately, many people forgot. We accomplished many things. The Theme will be the same as last year “Save The Wave” with the C5 and C6 Z06 and ZR1 as featured cars. Roger Peterson has gotten the block of rooms at Homewood Suites. We discussed having a larger tent erected and getting a police presence at the show as a safety measure. We have sent out a “Save the Date” who have attended in the past and all contacts on our webpage and Facebook page. The next show meeting is Wednesday, March 11 th at Mimi’s. Breakfast is at 8:30 with the meeting to follow at 9:30. Meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month until the show in November. FACEBOOK: John Farabee John reported we had 2,868,000 hits on our Facebook page after the Valentine’s Sweetheart Cruise. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Birthdays: Nancy Duty- Happy Birthday wishes to Dave Rosser, Robin Rosser, Leanne Gray, Denice Benson, John McArdle, and Nicole Limper. Sunshine- Nikki Colom- Two cards this month, Barbi Salvaggio and a thank you note to Tom Reedy at Woods Printing. Please let me know if you know of anyone who is ill or in hospital. We want to send good wishes. Club Shirts- Nikki Colom- The club shirt is a white-collar polo shirt for men and a white shirt/blouse for the ladies. Purchase your shirt(s) and bring it to a meeting with the money and Nikki will have them embroidered and returned at the next meeting. The logo and name are $15. Hats/Visors: Don Messenger- Mesh hats and fabric baseball style hats as well as visors with the club logo already on are $15 each and are available now. Club Badges: Ernie Brandes- Magnetic name badges are available for $11. See Ernie after the meeting to order and the badge will be returned at the next meeting. Food4Kids: Ernie Brandes- Thank you to Roger and Nancy Duty for picking up and dropping off bags for February. Nikki and Pete Colom will be picking up and dropping off in March. We currently are picking up16 bags which is less than last year due to cuts in funding. WEBPAGE: Linda Yanss Linda asked if anyone was having difficulty accessing the webpage. She said to contact her, and she will help you and give you the “backdoor” code to get to members only pages. Linda then presented a 12-minute video of our last year’s activities. It was very well received. RAFFLES: Tina Farabee 50/50 Raffle is $87: John McArdle Mimi’s Gift Card: Glenn Chauvin Papa John’s Pizza Card: Dave Rosser (donated by Mark and Carla Pettus).
