General Membership Business Meeting Minutes
June 4, 2025
PRESIDENT: Mike Stone
Mike called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. He welcomed the membership and guests,
reminded them to silence their phones and to be sure and sign in at the front table. Mike asked everyone to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. A moment of silence was taken to remember our recently deceased members, Jeanne Roy and Lynda Goodman. Mike introduced Ed Williams of WickEd Performance and Tim from Dillard’s who are Gold sponsors and presented them each with a plaque listing the years they have supported CCMC.
The Memorial Day Cruise was on May 24 th and had over thirty cars with more than 40 people attending. Thanks to all of you who helped us celebrate the men and women that gave their all so we can enjoy the freedom we currently have.
The St. John’s River Cruise is on July 17 th . Unfortunately, a couple had to cancel so there is room for two more people. The menu is in the President’s report and Cheryl will elaborate further in her report. VICE PRESIDENT: Tina Farabee Membership Update: Seventy-three members families are now in the club. New Members/Visitors: New members this evening include Mark Pettus and Carla who have a C6 2009 Torch Red Corvette; David Hyatt and Charity DeAngelo who have a C7 2016 ZO6 Black on Black Corvette; Michael and Nicole Limper who have a C6 2006 ZO6 Black Corvette. Our guest tonight is Cindy and Tony Kelichner who have a C7 2019 Torch Red Corvette, Welcome everyone. New Car Purchases/Changes: None. Service Providers Pros/Cons: Nick D’Altilio gave a thumbs-up to Bob’s Tire on 40 who diagnosed a body control module malfunction for $150 and had it for three days. Unfortunately, with the codes needed to reprogram according to Honda specifications, his neighbor had to take her car to the Honda Dealer. Arnette House: On the Arnette Facebook page, there is a picture of the outdoor built-in kitchen the kids built under the guidance of the Carpenter at the Wood Shop on campus as part of their curriculum. By-Law Updates: Upon review of the By-Laws, the following are recommendations for updates or changes. Under ARTICLE IV MEMBERSHIP, SECTION 2-MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURES, second sentence currently reads: Applications must be presented by the candidate at a regular business meeting. Dues are payable at the time of application. Since applications are being mailed in prior to attending a meeting and they are being cashed, it is recommended that Applications must be presented by the candidate at a regular business meeting be dropped and end the paragraph with “Ðues are payable at the time of application.” Under ARTICLE VII NOMINATING COMMITTEE, SECTION 1-COMPOSITION, currently reads: A nominating committee…It is recommended that through this section; nominating committee be changed to “election committee.” Under SECTION 2-ELECTION, TERMS, VACANCIES under A., it currently reads: “The Committee shall present its slate of candidates at the November General Membership Business meeting. Further nominations from active members will be taken only at this meeting.”It is recommended that it read as follows: The election committee shall present its slate of candidates at the November General Membership Business Meeting. Nominations from active members will be closed at the November meeting.” The proposals were presented to the Executive Board of Directors on May 27, 2025. Following discussion and there being no additions or changes, a motion was made to approve the two proposals presented, second made, all in favor; therefore, the above stated two proposal updates were accepted to be presented to the membership at the General Membership Business Meeting on June 4, 2025. SECRETARY: Joyce Stone May General Membership Business Meeting Minutes Approval: A motion was made to approve the May meeting minutes, second made, all in favor, opposed none; therefore, the May 2025 General Membership Business Meeting Minutes were accepted as posted. Correspondence: An article was published in the IES Newsletter that recognized CCMC for their faithfulness in driving Food4Kids on a weekly basis to Harbour View Elementary School. CCMC was also recognized for the generous donation made to purchase backpacks for the Harbour View Elementary School kids in the Food4Kids program. Other: The basket donations for the November car show are underway. Basket ideas are typed and ready for anyone who would like to use them. Donations accepted include wine, liquor, gift cards, money to help complete baskets. Baskets are comprised of themes, so use your imagination to pick things up that will go together in a basket. Please bring donations to the monthly meetings or call Joyce at 352-502-2216 to come by and pick them up or meet you somewhere to pick them up. It takes something from everyone to make this successful. TREASURER: Jack Carroll Financial Report: Beginning balance May 1 st was $10,942.93. Three bank deposits were made totaling $1,610.00. Two mobile deposits were made totaling $165.00. Four charges were made totaling $238.80. Seven checks were written totaling $579.23. The bank fee was $6.49. New checks purchased $292.59. Deposit slips purchased $178.44. The ending balance on May 31 st was $11,899.98. A motion was made to approve the May 2025 Financial Report, second made, all in favor, opposed none; therefore, the May 2025 Financial report was accepted. SPONSOR/VENDOR COORDINATOR: Roger Duty Roger was unfortunately unable to attend tonights meeting; however, the owner Bob of Scrambles has renewed his Bronze sponsorship and was very appreciative of the plaque. The owner, Kathy, of Pasta Faire and Francescos received a plaque for both restaurants and was much appreciative. She has committed to sending the check to renew her Silver sponsorship; however, it has not been received yet. August Events: August 6 th , CCMC General Membership Business Meeting; August 10 th , Harbor Hills Country Club Brunch; August 13 th , Show Meeting; August 20 th ; ORFs breakfast at Scrambles; Cruise-In to Jeremiah’s Ice at 6 p.m.; August 27 th , Executive Board Meeting. The Silver Springs Glass Bottom Boat Cruise in August does not have an exact date at this time but will be announced soon. The cost will be $28.80 per person to cover a 90-minute boat tour, parking, and admission. NCM AMBASSADOR: Dave Rosser NCM UPDATE: NCM Anniversary celebration is in September. There are two 1-Laps this year; one starts September 23 rd and the second starts September 30 th . WEBSITE/FACEBOOK: Linda Yanss and Roger Peterson Website Update: Linda has completed the email switch over. If you have any questions, please talk to Linda. Facebook Update: Roger says the site is continually active especially with the Memorial Day cruise pictures. Car Show Update: First off, thank you to those who have signed up for the July 4 th parade at Del Webb Spruce Creek. At this parade, the Veterans ride in a corvette for the parade. The event lasts about an hour but means so much more to those who have not experienced the sports car feel. At this time, we only have seven cars signed up from our club; last year we had 28. Please, if you can spare an hour of your time, sign up for this event. The 27 th Annual All Corvette Car Show is off to a slow start, but we are anticipating registrations to increase as we near September. Show shirts are $18 and you can order one tonight after the meeting. Please see Rosalee to place your order. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Birthdays: Birthdays this June include Ed Ritty, Ernie Condra, JoAnne Marhefki, Brenda White, Tom Markferding, Tom Jones, Eileen Peterson, Edna Santiago, Don Messenger, Gail Supancic, Larry Tennison and Linda Yanss. Happy Birthday everyone. Sunshine: Rosalee is covering for Nikki Colom In May get well/speedy recovery cards went out to Renee Duprey, Nick D’Altilio, Roger Duty, Carol Brandes, John Farabee and JoAnne Marhefki. A sympathy card was sent to Art Roy. Club Shirts/Hats: Don Messenger covering for Nikki Colom The club shirt is a white-collar polo shirt for men and a white shirt/blouse for the ladies. Purchase your shirt(s), bring them to a meeting with the money and Nikki will have them embroidered and returned at the next meeting. The logo and name is $15. Checks can be made out to Brenda Hawter. All shirt embroidery/logo sales must go through CCMC. Mesh hats and baseball style hats as well as visors with the club logo already on are $15 each and are available at all meetings. Club Badges: Ernie Brandes Magnetic name badges are available for $11. See me after the meeting to order and the badge will be returned to you at the next meeting. Food4Kids: Ernie Brandes During the school year of 2024-2025, our volunteer team made 39 weeks of delivery, 26 bags in each trip. In total 1014 bags of food were delivered to Harbour View Elementary School. Our contribution of $2000 by check paid for our 26 backpacks plus 14 more for other schools. In kind our contribution was $2500, the approximate cost if they had to deliver the food, labor fuel, etc. Thank you to the four teams that worked during the year. OTHER: Ernie also displayed a high speed 3-D laser logo and lamp made with the club logo. These will be available to club members. If you are interested, Ernie will give you the information to contact the person doing this. This man is a retired police commander of the Bomb Squad in North Carolina who is an acquaintance of Ernie. RAFFLES: 50/50: Lloyd Gribbin had the lucky number to win $72. Mimi’s Gift Card: Larry Tennison won the $10 gift card.
